Mike Smith, I.T. Strategist
Michael is a sports enthusiast who enjoys working out, running and playing basketball. He has a passion for animals and rescue. He cofounded Private School Pups in 2016 and serves as an executive board member. Private School Pup’s is a 501(c)(3) charity; its mission is to provide grants, training, and education for fosters and adopters of dogs that are pulled from local kill shelters that have a need for guided and/or professional training.
Michael started his career in retail management operating several retail locations focused on staffing, operations and management training before transitioning into the public utilities sector. With ten years of utility experience, Michael has held several positions in Operations and IT including, Operations Coordinator, Business Improvement Analyst, Business Application Manager and Operations Planning Manager and as a 6-Sigma Green Belt he has led several projects in application implementation and process improvement.
Michael bridges gaps between IT and business and has experience identifying, implementing, training and documenting technology and process improvement initiatives. His unique problem-solving skills, passion for technology and process improvement experience has provided him several unique opportunities including a 3000+ vehicle GPS fleet technology solution, automated dialer implementation, IT contingency planning, new building design and data warehouse solutions working with budget responsibilities up to $30 million dollars.
